Grayson (The Great Dane) Loves His New Walkeez Dog Harness
by William Greenbaum, aka love ya woof!
Gigantic Grayson
GRAYSON loves his new Walkeez Dog Harness. Grayson is this wonderful stunning gigantic Great Dane that lives in our condo building owned by Patricia and Ted Multhauf. He is of course elegant and gray.
For weeks I have been watching Ted take Grayson on lazy neighborhood walks. The beautiful early morning walks where the air is fresh and cool in the west coast sun.
Grayson always seemed happy but slightly uncomfortable. I met Ted many times in the elevator when Grayson was going out for a walk, (he fills a 6-person elevator) and being a Great Dane, Grayson was a tad awkward on his feet. I somehow kept this in the back of my mind, and in passing I suppose I didn’t think much of it at the time.
Grayson was uncomfortable
But a few weeks ago I started working with the Walkeez Harnesses, a first-class pet accessory, and Simon Edwards, and slowly I’ve been noticing the positives and negatives of dog harnesses on the market and watching more closely dogs that use standard choke collars. One thing I observe is that most dogs are really uncomfortable and the harnesses are almost medieval in their operation. In my mind, a throw back to an era about 15 years ago. Throw a rope around a mutt. Haul him in!
With Grayson I started to notice the chaffing under his forelegs, and how he seemed to be walking in a way that protected his stride and it seemed to me he was somewhat constrained by the typical garden-variety dog harness so popular on the market today. You know the type, the wrap harness that uses nylon like you would get on a tie-down luggage strap but unprotected by soft fleece when the harness comes around the belly to attach to the collar.
One day I mentioned to Pat that our company allpetnaturals.com was carrying a new harness invented by a 24 year-old Vancouver entrepreneur Simon’s Edwards, and I also mentioned it was choke-free, with soft gentle padding made from fleece and it used the Tellington Touch design in its construction.
Both Pat and Ted were intrigued and suggested that I drop by and show them a new size 7 harness in Black and see how it might fit, and how comfortable it would be for Grayson.
Well I just came back from their condo tonight (as they live right down the hall from me on Tupper Street in Vancouver) and they were absolutely head over heels in love with the harness and so was Grayson.
I have to tell you that the Walkeez Harness is just about the Cadillac on the market for dog harnesses. No doubt about it. It is the greatest thing since sliced bread. This family absolutely loves it. It took about 15 seconds to explain all the benefits an dfor everyone to agree and man they put the Walkeez Harness on and Grayson was about the happiest Great Dane in Canadian dog history, and so were his parents.
Oops! I just thought of a point I have to make. Grayson didn’t have to step through and into this harness. This is really important albeit it sounds dorky.
Lets remember that Great Danes are awkward animals. They are huge and lanky and actually their legs are quite fragile. In fact the muscles and tendons on Great Danes are not over-developed but under-developed by nature and so its hard for this breed of dog to actually have to lift up its legs and wiggle and maneuver into a dog collar or harness.
This is the true advantage and benefit of the Walkeez Dog Harness because its a step in dog harnesses — the way you put it on is over the head of the animal, so it never has to pick its feet up, and you the owner don’t have to struggle with the dog.
$76.50 for a size 7
It cost them just $76.50 and it was a size 7 and it fit Grayson like a glove. He was so comfortable. It was awesome. I’m a born salesman to be sure but you know there are benefits, real benefits seeing happy folks with a product that delivers and hits the right price point. I mean under $80 bucks is really affordable and realistic.
In the next few days I will post a picture of Grayson on this blog so you can see for yourself how happy he is. In the condo tonight, as soon as we put that harness on, I swear I could almost hear Grayson say “Thanks Mum and Dad, I really feel a lot better, whew, what a relief.”

About Tellington Touch
see our blog and click on the tab Tellington Touch
* For animal lovers that don’t know, Tellington Touch is named after Linda Tellington-Jones, PhD. Linda is an internationally recognized animal expert, very first class, British, and she was asked to work with thoroughbred race horses to figure out a way to calm them after an adrenaline crunching race whereby it was needed to reduce quickly their heart rates and slow them down. She invented a process and methodology of soothing touch and it worked.
The treatment modality was proven successful and then researched and extended to other animals. Its essentially a wrap around touch of comfort, like a baby in a fetal position with a blanket and touch points that send a sensory signal to the brain, and the animal calms and relaxes making it more sociable around others. The harness that we carry, the Walkeez is designed to wrap around the dog’s body and to apply slight pressure in the exact Tellington Touch — POINTS – that set off this calming effect.
